Policy on circumstances leading to changes to postgraduate research study

This Policy contains information for students and staff on circumstances leading to change during a PGR programme, including interruption of studies, unauthorised absence, short-term absence, official leave of absence for study leave and fieldwork, holiday leave, maternity, adoption and paternity leave and pay, and withdrawal from a postgraduate research degree or termination of a student registration.

This policy outlines your responsibilities in relation to any changes to your PGR programme, eligible mitigating circumstances and how to apply for an interruption or extension.

The University of Manchester takes into consideration PGR student circumstances in relation to progression on their programme.  This policy sets out the reasons and allowances for changes to the original agreed PGR programme.
