Policy on the Progress and Review of Postgraduate Research Students

This policy provides information on the procedure in relation to the progress and review of postgraduate research students throughout their degree.  It includes details such as meetings with supervisors,  formal review meetings,  reports and presentations,  progress records,  continuation, discontinuation and transfer, and  unsatisfactory progress.

The University of Manchester provides a number of opportunities for postgraduate research students to formally submit work and be assessed by independent reviewers.  The policy outlines the responsibility of the supervisory team to ensure that the student is aware of all progress meetings and the possible outcomes of a progress review milestone.
