Policy on Submission of Work for Summative Assessment on Taught Programmes

This policy sets out the main arrangements for students submitting assessment on taught programmes (either undergraduate or postgraduate taught programmes). It includes information about Disability Advisory and Suport Servies (DASS) automatic extensions, late submission and plagiarism detection.

Undergraduates, Taught postgraduates

Our expectations of you under this policy:

You are expected to adhere to any arrangements that your School or programme team puts in place regarding the assessments you are required to submit. This includes any deadlines set for submission of work or restrictions on the number of words you should use in your assessment or coursework. You should also be aware that submitted assessment will normally be subject to checks for plagiarism, so you should familarise yourself with information about good academic practice and avoiding plagiarism.

The University has a responsibility to students to carry out assessment fairly and equitably. This policy document sets out the main arrangements for the submission of assessed work, which may be supplemented by more detailed guidance and arrangements set by your School or programme team.
