Undergraduates, Taught postgraduates
You should ensure that you are familiar with local attendance requirements and make sure that if you have any difficulty in following them that you inform your Academic Advisor or follow the information in your programme handbook.
Monitoring student attendance is part of the University’s commitment to providing a supported learning environment in which students are encouraged to develop knowledge, understanding and the range of skills and attributes expected of a Manchester Graduate. It encourages active participation in all learning activities through regular attendance. Schools are provided with information on good practice in setting out expectations for students, and monitoring, recording and reporting on student attendance, and also how to take forward cases of where concerns about attendance are coming to light. The information gathered also helps the University to respond to external body reporting requirements.
Students should contact their Programme or School Office for advice or further information about the policy.
